It was bound to happen.  My hosting provider allowed me to update Wordpress to version 2.9, but since WP 2.9 requires MySQL 5 or higher, and my old blog was running on MySQL 4, the crippled phpMyAdmin didn’t allow me to reimport the old database to be upgraded.  Needless to say, I created a new database, and I am now running 2.9 on MySQL 5 quite happily.
